About AEOlens

AEOlens is an Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) audit tool that helps founders, developers, and agencies improve how AI search engines cite their content. The platform runs 30+ structural checks on any URL and returns a scored fix list showing exactly what to change — and why each change increases citation probability across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok, and Claude.

Traditional SEO tools optimise for Google keyword rankings. They measure backlinks, page speed, and keyword density — signals that have little bearing on whether an AI model will quote your content in a response. AEOlens was built to fill that gap. The audit methodology is based on empirical testing of which structural signals consistently change citation outcomes across the five major AI search engines. Each of the 30+ checks is weighted by its measured impact on citation probability, not by SEO convention.

The audit covers six signal categories: content quality, including prose density, answer-first structure, FAQ coverage, factual specificity, content depth, and self-contained paragraphs; schema markup, including FAQPage, SoftwareApplication, Organization, WebPage, and dateModified JSON-LD; technical signals, including canonical URL, Open Graph tags, meta description, H1/H2 hierarchy, semantic HTML structure, and soft-404 detection; AI crawler access, including robots.txt permissions for GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended, xAI-Grok, and four other crawlers; discovery signals, including llms.txt, sitemap.xml, and Twitter Card metadata; and trust signals, including E-E-A-T indicators, author attribution, and contact information.

AEOlens is used by solo founders who want to know why ChatGPT is not recommending their product, by SaaS teams who want to outrank competitors in AI responses, and by digital agencies managing AEO for multiple client domains. The platform supports up to 50 domains per Agency account with per-project member access controls.

Every audit produces an AEO score from 0 to 100. The score is calculated from 207 total possible raw points across 30+ checks, normalised to a 100-point scale. A score above 80 indicates strong citation readiness across all five models. The median score across all audited URLs is 52/100. The AEOlens homepage itself scores 51/100 before the fixes described in this audit cycle are applied.
